Throughout the year, Access Tallahassee partners with various local not-for-profit organizations to bring its members opportunities to give back to the community in which they live. These projects vary, from putting together meals to be distributed over the holidays to making over a local agency, but all focus on creating a positive impact in Tallahassee.
SPRING 2020 – Pack the Pantry at Fort Braden School!
For Day of Action Spring 2020, the Access Tallahassee Advisory Council has chosen to support the students of Fort Braden School through a food service project. During the school year, economically disadvatanged students are provided groceries to take home to their families, but once school breaks for the summer these resources become more limited. It is our goal to provide these students with a bag of groceries to take home for the beginning of summer vacation.
On May 22, Access Tallahassee members will join students at Fort Braden School for a field day to celebrate the end of the school year where we’ll also be distributing the bags to students. More details on field day activities to come.
We’ve partnered with a local wholesale food supplier and have determined that each bag of groceries is valued at $25. We are asking for Access Tallahassee members and the business community to help in providing each student with a bag to take home by sponsoring this initiative.
