TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT YOUR TALLAHASSEE STORY. WHAT BROUGHT YOU TO TALLAHASSEE?

During my time at Troy University, I discovered my passion for events. With my senior year getting cut short due to COVID, I moved home and waited for regulations on group gatherings to be lifted. In January 2021, I accepted a job in Tallahassee and everything fell into place! It truly felt like it was meant to be! Tallahassee is only about two and a half hours from my hometown, which keeps me close to my family and has been the perfect place to start my career.

TELL US MORE ABOUT HOW YOU’RE INVOLVED IN TALLAHASSEE.

Being in the event realm definitely keeps me busy and out in the community! Over the last year with Social Catering, I have had the opportunity to be very hands-on with a ton of events including Big Bend Hospice’s Songwriters for Hope, FSU Women’s Tennis Night at the Net, TCC’s Cleaver & Cork, and so many more. This has allowed me to learn so much about Tallahassee and I look forward to plugging myself into more organizations in the coming months and growing with the community!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT TALLAHASSEE?

My favorite thing about Tallahassee is the community! Moving to Tallahassee was the first time in my life that I have ever lived somewhere that I knew practically no one, which can be very
intimidating. This town provides so many ways to meet new people and get involved. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the people I’ve met and the relationships I’ve made over the last two years!

WHAT IS YOUR DREAM FOR TALLAHASSEE?

During the little amount of time I have called Tallahassee home, I have fallen in love with the natural beauty of the city. My dream for Tallahassee is for the city to continue to grow and create opportunities for young professionals while keeping Tallahassee’s core features intact. The mossy oak trees, canopy roads, and Old Florida State Parks are all part of Tallahassee’s charm!

HOW ARE YOUNG PROFESSIONALS LIKE YOURSELF SHAPING TALLAHASSEE?

Young professionals are driving growth and becoming influential members of the community in Tallahassee! We bring new ideas and join the workforce hungry, ready to take on anything that gets thrown our way.

WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO SOMEONE CONSIDERING A MOVE TO TALLAHASSEE?

Get involved as soon as possible and don’t hesitate to get out and meet people! Finding people to surround yourself with that share the same passion and goals as you will help you continue to grow and keep you grounded.
