Tell us your Tallahassee story, what brought you to Tallahassee?
To be honest, Tallahassee was never on my radar of where I thought I would end up. When I graduated from college at Florida Tech, I found the open entry-level coastal engineer position with AtkinsRealis. Once I was offered the position, they let me know they would like me to move to join their Tallahassee team; I excitedly accepted the job but was nervous about moving somewhere I’d never visited before and knew no one in the town. I quickly grew to love the small-town feel that Tallahassee offers its residents, and once I got involved with Access, I was able to integrate and grow within my community and have made some lifelong friendships here.
What is your favorite thing about Tallahassee?
I love how much nature Tallahassee has to offer. There are parks and hiking trails all around for any level of nature connoisseur. I also love the small-town feel it has while still offering big-town kind of events.
What business or event would you like to see come to Tallahassee?
I would love to see a silent disco rave/party event here in Tallahassee.
What would you say to someone considering moving to Tallahassee?
It is a tight-knit community, and everyone is extremely welcoming to newcomers. Tallahassee also has a lot to offer for almost anything could be interested in, you might just have to dig a little to find your group.
What is your favorite thing about your career?
I love that my career keeps me close to the coastlines and beaches. Another one of my favorite things about my job it the passion that my team and company have for improving the environment.
