Tell us your Tallahassee story, what brought you here and what made you want to stay?
A native of Tallahassee, I always appreciated the small town feel of our community. After graduating from Lawton Chiles High School, I left to attend college and begin my career in Central and South Florida. I was fortunate to make my way back home when an opportunity opened up with the Florida Dental Association in 2019. Since then, I’ve been thrilled to see how much Tallahassee has grown, and truly appreciate that it has been able to do so while preserving much of that unique small town feeling.
Are you involved in any organizations other than Access?
I am a member of the Tallahassee Network of Young Professionals and the Florida Society of Association Executives, sit on a volunteer committee for the Florida Dental Association Foundation, and serve on the board of Innovate TLH. I also support the Institute of Nonprofit Innovation and Excellence, Tallahassee State College, and the FAMU Small Business Development Center by educating their members & clients on topics such as entrepreneurship, fraud prevention, and risk management.
What is your favorite thing about Tallahassee?
The people! There are so many folks with a good attitude and a willingness to help one another. The networks you can build for yourself here are great, and the southern hospitality is alive and well.
What Business or event would you like to see come to Tallahassee?
One more airline please… competition is good for everyone :)
What would you say to someone considering moving to Tallahassee?
Do it while you can, we are filling up fast!
What is your favorite thing about your career?
I enjoy helping small businesses take the next step; from mom and pop shop to a fully fledged enterprise. Providing the knowledge and resources to help people really optimize their financial situation is incredibly fulfilling, and it lets them focus on taking care of their own customers.
