The Florida Department of Management Services (DMS) is a customer-oriented agency responsible for managing the various business and workforce-related functions of state government. Under the direction of Governor Ron DeSantis and DMS’ Executive Leadership Team, the agency oversees the real estate, procurement, human resources, group insurance, retirement, technology, private prisons, fleet, and federal property assistance programs utilized throughout Florida’s state government. DMS is relied upon to establish, maintain and improve the business processes used by state employees to create a better, not bigger government. DMS facilitates the delivery of these programs and services and provides tools and training to bolster the efficiency and effectiveness of the state’s workforce. Apply knowledge of Division of Telecommunications rules, policies, plans, regulations and procedures in processing Communications Services and Authorization and Billing Systems (CSAB) forms. Review CSAB orders submitted by others for processing, determine if requests are justified; discuss forms with preparer, if necessary, and complete own actions regarding form in an expedient manner. Approve valid CSA requests on behalf of the Division of Telecommunications as assigned.
Coordinate any corrections, additions, or changes to documentation submitted with the requesting agency.
Prepare CSAB forms when necessary for network features and facilities with few clerical errors and few technical errors; review own work for accuracy. Approve CSAB forms on behalf of the Division of State Technology. Use the automated CSAB systems to process existing and to prepare new CSAB Orders.
Consult with Division personnel, to include Field Consultants, when necessary for information and coordination purposes. Apply technical knowledge and skills related to telecommunications in accomplishing communications project work and everyday network work. Provide technical assistance to state agencies, political sub-divisions, and other eligible users concerning the development and implementation of communications plans and projects.
Determine alternative courses of action for correcting problems with existing end-user systems; work with engineering personnel to assist in the design of these systems. Prepare estimates for communications projects.
Participate in network related projects, as assigned, in addition to routine network management functions.
Provide support for engineering personnel and assist less technical personnel on technical information necessary for fulfillment of their duties associated with the tasks above.
Maintain documents and reports as necessary to substantiate and verify activities pertaining to the SUNCOM network.
Assist in training lower level telecommunications specialist in standard operating practices. Attend training classes/seminars as directed.
Assist with Customer Resolutions.
Install and troubleshoot phone services (VoIP and TDM) which includes assembling phone sets, connecting wiring of the phones, using tools and following installation diagrams and work orders. The ability to lift boxes weighing up to fifty pounds. Installation of phone services will require stooping, crouching, and crawling under desks and working in confined spaces.
Provide necessary assistance to the agency Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP).
Other duties as assigned.

Two years’ experience in Telecommunications (voice, data and video services).
Two years’ experience in Customer Service.
Experience operating a variety of on-line processing systems.
Experience managing telecommunications projects.
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
