The Florida Department of Management Services (DMS) is a customer-oriented agency responsible for managing the various business and workforce-related functions of state government. Under the direction of Governor Ron DeSantis and DMS’ Executive Leadership Team, the agency oversees the real estate, procurement, human resources, group insurance, retirement, technology, private prisons, fleet, and federal property assistance programs utilized throughout Florida’s state government. DMS is relied upon to establish, maintain and improve the business processes used by state employees to create a better, not bigger government. DMS facilitates the delivery of these programs and services and provides tools and training to bolster the efficiency and effectiveness of the state’s workforce. Position responsibilities:
Provides technical support and assistance to staff; analyzes problems and implements solutions.
Performs computer trouble-shooting to diagnose system problems; analyzes personal computer and peripherals’ functionality; identifies, locates, resolves and repairs problems.
Monitors and resolves basic connectivity problems.
Install, configure and test hardware and/or software.
Ensure software licensing compliance and inventory/asset control.
Perform preventative maintenance and repair hardware.
Conduct end-user training in operation and use of hardware and software.
Research evaluate and test hardware and software products and systems solutions.

Knowledge of Personal Computers – Demonstrate basic knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of a PC. Apply knowledge and understanding of PC fundamentals in the installation, testing, diagnosing, and repairing PC’s.
Knowledge of Networking – Demonstrate basic knowledge and understanding of networking concepts. Apply knowledge and understanding of networking concepts in the installation, testing, diagnosing, and repairing of workstations in a network environment.
Knowledge of Office Software – Demonstrate knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Teamwork – Communicate and coordinate with peers, supervisor, and other staff.
Security and Confidentiality – Maintain all job-related information secure and confidential in order to protect workplace information and to assure compliance with confidentiality requirements. Enforce industry best practices regarding information security.
Customer Service – Interface with internal/external customers in order to provide information, explain procedures, answer questions and provide support.
Minimum Qualifications:
An associate degree in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited college or university or two (2) years of computer systems support experience.
