Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) is dedicated to making its university community a healthy campus. Having joined forces with the Partnership for Healthier America’s (PHA) Healthy Campus Initiative (HCI), FAMU will kick off its 2nd Annual Healthy Campus Week – September 23 – 27. 2019. The University is one of the HCI campus partners that has committed to meeting 23 of 41 guidelines focusing on nutrition, physical activity and campus wellness over a three-year course.
Some of the public activities will include blood pressure and fitness screenings, and campus “walkouts” that support the on-going FAMU Community Walking Program. This year’s line-up will also include exciting new activities such as the “Sweat to the 90’s Group Exercise, “Black Out Glow Fit” featuring Soul Cycling, TRAP Zumba and a HIIT Boot Camp! The week will culminate with “Level Up” on the Set – a fun day of physical activities and competitions.
